Eden Park to host New Zealand Eid Day
Eden Park is delighted to host New Zealand Eid Day on Saturday 2 September, 2017.
Eid Al Adha marks a day of immense significance in the Muslim lunar calendar, and is celebrated by Muslim communities worldwide.
This event, which will go ahead rain or shine, is vital to both the social as well as religious life of the community. On the day, thousands will gather to celebrate this festival in an open, inclusive, and convivial environment.
“For Muslims, Eid is considered to be one of the most joyous days of the calendar, and to celebrate it with the wider community at Eden Park makes it an even more exciting event,” says Mohamed Jaballah, Auckland Eid Day Marketing Manager.
Visitors are encouraged to attend to partake in the celebrations. New Zealand Eid Day offers a wide variety of educational displays, cultural exhibits and food stalls across the venue. Non-Muslims and Muslims alike have the opportunity to engage in the cultural and culinary diversity Auckland has to offer.
As a family-based event, New Zealand Eid Day offers a space for children of all ages to enjoy a wide selection of games and activities, including bouncy castles, poi, toddler playland and more.
New Zealand Eid Day is organised by members of the community for the community. As a grassroots initiative, it helps to bring together the resources and experience of the community and to cultivate its wellbeing.
