Eden Park's fields

No. 1

• The No. 1 field is 1.6 Hectares
• The grass used is a Legend Couch base that is oversown with Rye grass during the winter period.
• It is able to drain up to 75mm of rain per hour.
• It is a Motz stabilized turf system and has a StrathAyr portable sand tray for use in the Rugby Season and a portable wicket tray for the Cricket Season.
• The field profile features a high performance gravity drainage system

• The irrigation system is a Rainbird individual head control with 7005 sprinklers (98 in total) and is managed by a computerized Rainbird site control system.

No. 2 Oval

• The No. 2 Oval is 1.4 Hectares
• The grass used is Rye but Legend Couch is to be introduced shortly.
• The drainage in the field is a sand slit system.
• The irrigation system is the Rainbird individual head control and is managed through a computerized Rainbird site control.
• The No. 2 Oval is utilized mainly for First Class cricket but during winter it is used extensively for rugby training sessions.
• It also houses a 4 tray StrathAyr portable pitch nursery.
• The No. 2 Oval boasts excellent indoor and outdoor cricket practice facilities. The outdoor facility has 22 strips, 1 of which is all weather. The facility is completely covered to permit dual use of the practice strips or No. 2 Oval at the same time.
• The No. 2 Oval also has 1 portable pitch location plus a 5 pitch permanent block.
